"Frank Lloyd Wright: the Southwest Legacy" is the topic of an upcoming lecture by Frank Henry, Studio Master at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture, set to take place 7:30 p.m. on January 25, 2008 at the Art Center College of Design, 1700 Lida St., Pasadena. The lecture is sponsored by the Friends of the Gamble House.
Henry will highlight Wright's Southwest experiences and work, his biological discoveries using new materials and his overall organic approach to architecture. In addition, the following day, a tour of Wright's textile-blocked design La Miniatura in Pasadena will be offered on January 26 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The home is rarely opened to the public and is undergoing a major restoration; however, guests can view the exotic house which Wright envisioned as a Mayan ruin set in a jungle ravine.
Ticket prices for the Henry lecture are $25 for the general public, $20 for Friends of the Gamble House (FOGH) members and $15 for students. Tickets for the tour of La Miniatura are $50 for the general public and $30 for FOGH members.
