Long averse to any change, South Pasadena has embraced an aggressive redevelopment strategy that has brought loft condos, high-end restaurants and trendy shops to a city that has prided itself on a Main Street USA feel even though it's less than seven miles from downtown Los Angeles. |

LA City Planning on Mansionization |

There has been a great deal of discussion about the pros and cons of "Mansionization" in recent years. The Los Angeles Department of City Planning has been conducting a citywide study on how to best address the issue of mansionization as it affects non-hillside and non-coastal properties. The Planning department is in the process of evaluating a proposal to address the issue of mansionization. |

Demolishing the Charm of Vincent Lugo Park |

According to the official Grapevine newsletter, the San Gabriel City Council is planning to demolish a charming part of Vincent Lugo Park known as Laguna de San Gabriel, a whimsical playground filled with colorful oversized cement creatures that act as slides, climbing structures and fodder for imaginative play. |
