How Do I Find Who Designed My House? |

I live in a 1935 Tudor style house in Los Angeles. My house, distinctive in style, is often mistaken as being designed by a particular architect. I know nothing about the architect, nor whether my home is one of their designs. Where do I look to begin my research as to who the architect might have been?
The best place to start is by obtaining copies of the building permits issued by the City of L.A. for your residence. The original building permit will list the names of the original owner and architect/contractor if there were any. You can obtain copies of the permits from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.
