
Become a Contributing Writer at PreserveLA.com!
Want to become more involved in Los Angeles' historic preservation community? Do you have an urge to write and a need for creative outlet? Do you wish to share what you've learned with others? If your answer to any or all of these questions is 'yes,' then you are in the right place.
PreserveLA is looking for individuals interested in contributing to the website's content on a weekly and/or monthly basis. Contributions can range from articles on current preservation issues and threatened buildings to the basics (and the not so basics) of historical research and writing.
Professional experience is not required. However, contributing writers are expected to have practical experience or knowledge in historic preservation and to have demonstrated expertise in the area about which they are writing. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

The history of local landmarks and other historic resources.
News and information on saved, threatened, or lost buildings.
"How-to" articles and/or technical briefs on valuable sources of information and research.
Reviews of preservation-related books, exhibits, and events.
Summaries of new and upcoming events.
General discussion of local, state, and national issues that affect historic preservation efforts in Los Angeles and Southern California.
As a contributing writer, you must agree to work for PreserveLA in a voluntary capacity. It is not possible to provide monetary compensation at this time. However, all contributing writers will be credited for their work and valuable exposure provided to PreserveLA.com's many visitors and weekly subscribers. PreserveLA.com email addresses, limited webhosting services, and free links to personal websites are also available.
