Lincoln Place Evictions Start

From The Venice Paper:

December 6th is Eviction Day at Lincoln Place
December 6, 10:50 AM - Sheriff's deputies fanned out across Lincoln Place Apartments to carry out eviction orders on 52 households at 9:00 AM this morning. Tenants were ordered out of their apartments empty-handed as locks were changed on their doors.

The eviction action commenced one half hour before Judge Yaffe of Los Angeles Superior Court was to hear arguments from AIMCO, the owner of the 695-apartment complex and the 20th Century Architectural Alliance on an Appellate Court ruling that a public review of the conditions - including a "no evictions" clause - attached to AIMCO's plan to demolish and redevelop the 33-acre site still apply.
