Lincoln Place Agreement
According to the Venice Paper, a tentative agreement has been reached that will save 242 units of the historic Lincoln Place apartment complex in Venice. Members of the Lincoln Place Tenants Association, the Los Angeles Conservancy, District 11 Councilman Bill Rosendahl's office, and the Mayor's office met with representatives of AIMCO, owners of Lincoln Place, last week to broker the deal. The agreement forestalled twenty-five evictions and assures the remaining 170 households tenancies for life, according to the Tenant's Association.
The agreement, which has yet to be finalized, establishes which buildings in the historic, 38-acre postwar garden apartment complex will be preserved, but does not specify how many new units could be built.
