Affordable Housing Survey

The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) is soliciting comments on the strengths and weaknesses of the ACHP's approach to achieving successful affordable housing projects through historic preservation and the requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The survey is part of an effort to update the ACHP's "Policy Statement on Affordable Housing and Historic Preservation," which was first adopted ten years ago.

The ACHP amended its regulations in 2000 to enable Federal agencies and their grantees further flexibility in complying with Section 106 Review requirements. Because of these changes, the ACHP is taking a fresh look at their affordable policy statement and how well it is working. The results of the survey will help guide any improvements to the policy that may be needed.

The survey is being conducted online and may be accessed at: http://www.achp.gov/affhsng-form.html

Candid responses and additional comments are encouraged. All responses will remain anonymous and confidential, unless you choose otherwise. The ACHP will accept responses until 5:00 PM (EDT) on Friday, September 19, 2005.
